Labor Movement in the 1930s

To answer this question correctly, students must select Facts 3 and 4 and explain how both show that Costa's experience was atypical. Fact 3 suggests that, unlike Costa's experience, most textile factory workers in the 1930s could be fired for any reason. Fact 4 indicates that labor strikes in the 1930s were often not nearly as successful as the one at the Arrow Piece Dye Works.

Level: Proficient

Student selects the correct fact and explains how it shows that Costa's experience was not typical for textile workers in the 1930s.

Level: Emergent

Student selects the correct fact but provides an incomplete explanation of how it indicates that Costa's experience was atypical.

Level: Basic

Student does not select the correct fact or does not provide a rationale for selection.
