Civic Online Reasoning Across Subjects

SHEG's pilot program in Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, Illinois, is highlighted in a nationally syndicated news story. The high school's science and social studies teachers are using the Civic Online Reasoning curriculum to teach students "to distinguish between reliable sources, misinformation, and politically or financially motivated sources" on the Internet. SHEG developed the curriculum based on our research with professional fact checkers. Teachers are using the classroom materials to teach students the skills necessary to figure out who's behind information they come across online and verify claims made on social media.
