History Assessments for Distance Learning

All of our history assessments are free to download and can be used as activities in online learning platforms.

Here’s one idea for using them to teach the historical thinking skill of sourcing:

  1. Upload our First Thanksgiving sourcing task. Have students submit their answers online.
  2. After students submit their answers, have them watch a video explaining the assessment.
  3. Next, ask students to revise their answers based on what they learned about sourcing from the video.
  4. Give students a different version of the sourcing task, such as our Declaration of Independence assessment. Compare student responses to help determine what additional instruction students may need to learn the skill of sourcing.
